What Kind of Pet are You?

Hey everybody!

I'm just a little bored and tired of Winter. So I thought I'd do something fun today. I'm sure you've all seen those studies about people and their pets...you know the one...where they show a picture of a bulldog being led around by a short, wide man with a smashed in nose and fat cheeks. Is it true? Does our choice of pet...or lack thereof...reflect our personalities (or our physical appearance?). Let's do a little study of our own. To play you just need to comment on the following question. And to make it really fun, your comment will add you to a drawing to win a free download of one of my books. I'll pick the winner a week from now, on Sunday, March 1st.

Question:
Do you have a pet, if so what kind of pet do you have, and how do think this choice reflects you.

Okay, that's really 3 questions but...you don't really mind do you?

I'll start it off. I have 10 dogs, 2 horses, and 2 cats. That says I have no self control where animals are involved...NONE!

But, predominantly I'm a dog person. And within the dog universe I tend toward miniature dachshunds. Why? They're short, they love to eat, and they have energetic, fun loving personalities. I'm convinced I was a dachshund in my previous life!

But overall, I'm a dog person versus a cat person because dogs can be taught to do what you ask. Cats do only what they want to do. I freely admit it, I might have some teeny, tiny control issues...short woman syndrome? Perhaps...

Now it's your turn. Help me figure out if it's true that our choice of pet (or no pet) reflects on us. Your comment will get you a chance to win a free ebook, how cool is that!

well I personally do not have a pet, but in my moms house where I live part of the year we have 3 indoor cats and 2 cats that hang out outdoors that are not ours but mom feeds them. When I can get my own animal I want a pug, preferably a black puppy. I love the pug's cause they are people in doggie suits lol. They are not overly active and are happy to just hang out with you.

Well, now I have 3 dogs and a chinchilla. I have always been around animals all of my life. I grew up on a small farm, which we had cows, pigs, chickens, cats and dogs. I has had fish, gerbels, hamsters and rabbits at one time. I am more of a cat person, I miss having a cat. Since my cat that I had for 15 years pass away and I have gotten married I haven't had a cat for 10 years. Since my husband doesn't like cats, all I have now are dogs. I love my 13 year old chihuahua, he follows me every where I go.

Pugs are so cute! And a chinchilla! That's different!

Hi Sam, we used to have 11 cats and one dog. Now, we just have a dog. He a blond Lab mixed with something else. Unfortunately, he is blind, but that doesn't stop him. He and I are alike in that we both like to have a good time and very protective of our possessions.

We had bad experiences with dogs. So, we don't have a real one. I bought my hubby a dauchhund from Home Interior. Our son was in college at the time. When we went to see son, I told him all the things our new dog didn't do or need. (cecelia'IWC)

We have four cats. In our 27 years of marriage, we've always had cats and just one dog that we were blessed to have for ten years that just passed a few years ago. He was a Jack Russell terrier that was named Jackolantern Rufus(got him before Halloween and our 6 yr old daughter named him!!)

We've figured out that we are cat people. Don't know exactly how or why, we like dogs, we just LOVE cats more!!

I'm a Dachshund. I have two, plus an angel. They're smart, sweet, shy around new people, funny, and short. Me, too. LOL.

I love that they have "big dog" voices. People are always surprised to find I don't have a German Shepherd inside my house. LOL. Course, if anyone broke in I think they'd do just as much damage as a GS because they don't realize they're small.

They have very distinct personalities. My red mini girl thinks she's Queen and acts surprised that we don't obey her. And my mellow old standard boy just wants to sleep all day.

:-)

Hey Anna,I have 4 minis. I agree with everything you said...they are pure entertainment. But don't get on their bad side because they don't know they're little. In fact I feature one in my new romantic suspense, A Honeybun and Coffee, and he takes out two bad guys all by himself!

Cecelia, I have one of those fake dachshunds too, it's in my daughter's room. Very cute.

I have two cats and lots of fish. I owul dhave dogs but my daughter is allergic to them. I really am a dog person and I like not huge but big dogs like golden retrievers that you can hug and lay on and they give so much love back

Fish are difficult. They just swim around and do not talk or fetch. But they do give me pleasure. I had lungfish and they could recognize me from all my students. They were neat.

What does it say about me? I guess witht he dogs I need to be loved and cuddled but the fish say I am aloof with a wall between me and others. So like my lungfish, after awhilethe wall breaks down and I can let someone in.
