Sam's Snippet Sunday

Bounty Hunter Matthew Blood is a Bloodhound shifter, so tracking things comes naturally to him. But when one of his skips gets blasted out of a fourth floor window, Matt goes after the only other person in the vicinity, and gets fairy-smacked himself.

Rum is a fairy. He left the safety of the mound to bust a fairy dust ring and rescue some captured fairies. In the process, he quickly finds himself the target of the sexy bounty hunter tracking one of the dealers. Trapped and being pursued on multiple fronts, Rum asks Blood for help. Blood is happy to lend a hand, but he soon discovers fairy dust isn’t the only addictive thing about a fairy.

The little bitch’s barking woke him up. Matt groaned as he moved, his muscles screaming. When he opened his eyes, he jumped.

The fairy sat on the edge of the bed, staring at him with a heated, turquoise gaze. “Good morning.”

Matt squinted toward the window. Yup. It was morning. He vaguely remembered dragging himself home and falling into bed the night before and nothing at all after that. It was unusual for him to sleep that long or deeply. Pushing himself to one elbow, Matt scrubbed a hand over his face and realized he was still tired. “I feel like I’ve been hit by a train.”

The fairy smiled. “I have that effect.” He cocked his golden head, the softly curling strands of his hair catching the rays of the sun and creating a golden halo.

“How did you find me?” Matt squinched his eyes closed and reopened them. The halo effect remained. “What did you do to me?”

The fairy shrugged. “I followed you. And that’s what you get for using an attraction spell against me.”
