Do you like Pepsi? Or Coke? Do you like Erotic? Or Sweet? If you found yourself in a room with ten people, six of them would probably prefer Coke. The other four would be die hard Pepsi drinkers. Three of them wouldn’t read a book unless it had tons of sexy scenes in it. Seven wouldn’t touch a book that didn’t focus more on the romance, or the plot. It doesn’t really matter what you like, not to me, but to you it’s hugely important.
The battle between brands is epic.
In the Romance universe, one woman’s pleasure is another woman’s porn. Some women prefer sweet or sensual romance and others find it boring. Some like contemporary; just interaction between two love interests in a normal world environment. Others need the action and pace of a great romantic suspense or the excitement of losing themselves in a paranormal.
In the interests of full disclosure, I am a Pepsi girl. Full on. And I’m a sensual suspense and fantasy reader. No holds barred.
What are you?
Many readers say they like everything. Can that really be true? Is that really possible? If you sat down and made a list of what you like and what you dislike in your reading you’d most likely realize that you lean in one direction or the other.
That’s cool.
That’s fine.
That’s…actually…awesome.
You have a right to an opinion. We all do. We also have a right to discriminate in life. We discriminate over the foods we eat, the sodas we prefer, the books we like to read, and the clothes we wear.
As a writer, I love that people discriminate. And I HATE it! Because that means some people won’t like my own special brand of fast paced, fun loving romance. S’okay. I’m learning to live with the rejection.
Really.
(Sob!!!)
I am.
Okay, I’m not. It still sucks. But it’s okay.
I’m sure Coke feels just a tiny bit rejected about my love for Pepsi.
Thanks for stopping by to listen to me rant. #:0)

I'm a rootbeer drinker myself lol
I do like my books at varying stages of sensual. I would not be able to just sit down and read straight erotica books one after another. I need to mix it up. Just like I need my historical, my paranormal, my contemp and my cowboys etc...
I do love it all. I prefer hot erotica when there is a story. Not a fan of short erotica but I have read some super good amazing ones. Just not reading one after another. Like they say too much chocolate is yuck right.

LOL, Michelle, how could I have forgotten root beer? My favorite place when I was growing up was the A&W Root Beer restaurant because it was one of those drive ups, and the root beer came in big, frosty mugs. Yum!!!
